Avner Rotman, Ph.D - Chairman of the Board

Professor Avner Rotman is Chairman of the Board at BiondVax. After an academic career at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Prof. Rotman founded Bio-Dar, a company specializing in controlled release Pharmaceuticals, Health and Nutrition, where he served as President and CEO for 15 years until the company was sold to the Machteshim-Agan/Lycored Group. In 2000 he founded Rodar Technologies, a company focused on technology transfer in the high tech industry, where he currently serves as CEO and Chairman of the Board. Prof. Rotman is a member of the steering committee of the Israeli Biotechnology Organization, and is extensively involved with Biotechnology incubators in Israel and with the Life Science business community. He is Founder and Chairman of the Foundation of Cardiovascular Research in Israel. Prof. Rotman received his PhD from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel.

Dr. Ron Babecoff – D.V.M.

Dr. Ron Babecoff is a veterinarian, a graduate of the University of Liege ULG, Belgium in 1992 and a Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MEI) at the Business Administration program of the Swinburne University of Technology of Melbourne, Australia (Israeli Branch (ISEMI) Tel-Aviv).

Dr. Babecoff has 10 years of experience in marketing and business development in the pharmaceutical industry. In his last position as Marketing Manager at Omrix Biopharmaceuticals Ltd., Dr. Babecoff was responsible for marketing, sales training, public relations, and new product development. Most of Dr. Babecoff’s time was dedicated to business development issues including developing new and current export markets, negotiating and contracting with distributors in target countries. Some significant projects that Dr. Babecoff was involved in include identifying West Nile Fever treatment and building cooperation with USA NIH, forming alliances with leading major pharmaceutical companies (ZLB, LFB).

Moshe Many, M.D., Ph.D.

Professor Moshe Many has a wealth of clinical, academic and business experience. Prof. Many is currently the Chairman of the R&D Committee of Teva’s Board of Directors (where he serves since 1987). Prof. Many served as President of Tel Aviv University for a period of 8 years, and as the President of Tel Aviv International School of Management for 4 years. He is currently President of the Ashkelon Academic College. Prof. Many served as Chairman of Surgery and Chief of Urology at the Sheba Medical Center, one of Israel’s leading hospitals. He was also the Chairman of the Magen David Adom’s Executive Committee (Israel’s equivalent of the Red Cross Organization). He has served as a Board member for Israel Laser Industries and Elbit Medical Imaging. Prof. Many received his Ph.D. in Surgery from Tufts University.

Rami Epstein, LL.M.

Rami Epstein, Co-Founder of BiondVax, is a seasoned entrepreneur in the biotech sphere and has proven senior managerial experience as Chief Operations Officer in the field. Mr. Epstein also has over 14 years of experience as a practicing lawyer specializing in International Finance, Commercial and Corporate Law and in Industrial and Intellectual Property.

Mr. Epstein was the Co-Founder, Chief Operations Officer (COO) and member of the Board of Directors of IDgene Pharmaceuticals Ltd, a population genomics research company.

During his work as a commercial lawyer, Mr. Epstein has accumulated extensive knowledge and experience in the international commercial arena, including the negotiation and drafting of multimillion-dollar contracts, license and technology transfer agreements, and SPAs.

Mr. Epstein is a Member of the Legislative Committee for Science and Technology of the Israeli Bar and serves as a representative of the Israeli Bar in the Legislative Committee for Science and Technology of the Israeli House of Parliament, the �Knesset�.

He holds a LLB degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a LLM degree in International Commercial Law from the University of London, King's College.
