Prof. Avner Rotman, Ph.D - Chairman of the Board
Professor Avner Rotman is Chairman of the Board at BiondVax. After an academic career at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Prof. Rotman founded Bio-Dar, a company specializing in controlled release Pharmaceuticals, Health and Nutrition, where he served as President and CEO for 15 years until the company was sold to the Machteshim-Agan/Lycored Group. In 2000 he founded Rodar Technologies, a company focused on technology transfer in the high tech industry, where he currently serves as CEO and Chairman of the Board. Prof. Rotman is a member of the steering committee of the Israeli Biotechnology Organization, and is extensively involved with Biotechnology incubators in Israel and with the Life Science business community. He is Founder and Chairman of the Foundation of Cardiovascular Research in Israel. Prof. Rotman received his PhD from the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel.

Dr. Ron Babecoff, D.V.M. – Founder, President and CEO
Dr. Babecoff co-founded BiondVax in 2003, and has led the Company as its President and CEO since its inception. Prior to the founding of BiondVax, Dr. Babecoff had worked for 10 years in marketing and business development in the pharmaceutical industry.
In his last position as Marketing Manager at Omrix Biopharmaceuticals Ltd., Dr. Babecoff was responsible for marketing, sales training, public relations, and new product development. Some significant projects that Dr. Babecoff was then involved in include identifying West Nile Fever treatments and building cooperation with the US NIH, and forming alliances with leading international pharmaceutical companies.
Dr. Babecoff holds a D.V.M. degree from the University of Liège (ULg), Belgium and a Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation (MEI) from the Swinburne University of Technology of Melbourne, Australia.

Prof. Moshe Many, M.D., Ph.D. - External Director
Professor Moshe Many has a wealth of clinical, academic and business experience. Prof. Many is currently the Chairman of the R&D Committee of Teva’s Board of Directors (where he serves since 1987). Prof. Many served as President of Tel Aviv University for a period of 8 years, and as the President of Tel Aviv International School of Management for 4 years. He is currently President of the Ashkelon Academic College. Prof. Many served as Chairman of Surgery and Chief of Urology at the Sheba Medical Center, one of Israel’s leading hospitals. He was also the Chairman of the Magen David Adom’s Executive Committee (Israel’s equivalent of the Red Cross Organization). He has served as a Board member for Israel Laser Industries and Elbit Medical Imaging. Prof. Many received his Ph.D. in Surgery from Tufts University.

Rami Epstein, LL.M. - Co-Founder, External Director
Rami Epstein, Co-Founder of BiondVax, has over 19 years of experience as a practicing lawyer specializing in International Finance, Commercial and Corporate Law and in Industrial and Intellectual Property. During his work as a commercial lawyer, Mr. Epstein has accumulated extensive knowledge and experience in the international commercial arena, including the negotiation and drafting of multimillion-dollar contracts, license and technology transfer agreements, and SPAs.
Mr. Epstein was the Co-Founder, COO and Director of IDgene Pharmaceuticals Ltd, a population genomics research company.
Mr. Epstein is a Member of the Legislative Committee for Science and Technology of the Israeli Bar and serves as a representative of the Israeli Bar in the Legislative Committee for Science and Technology of the Knesset.
He holds a LLB degree from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a LLM degree in International Commercial Law from the University of London, King's College.

Dr. George Lowell - External Director
Dr. George Lowell joined the Company in 2008. Dr. Lowell is the former Chief Scientific Officer of BioDefense at GlaxoSmithkline Biologicals and, prior to that, the CSO of ID Biomedical (subsequently acquired by GSK). He served as a Doctor (Consultant in Pediatric Infectious Diseases) and researcher at the Walter Reed General Hospital (US Army hospital) for 20 years. He subsequently founded and managed Intellivax, a vaccines R&D company that was acquired by ID Biomedical.
Dr. Lowell has held a number of academic posts, including Visiting Scientist at the Weizmann Institute of Science (Israel) as well as Visiting Professor, Hebrew University-Hadassah Medical Center (Israel). Dr. Lowell is a Colonel (retired) in the US Army.

Prof. Liora Katzenstein - External Director
Prof. Katzenstein's education spans business, law, psychology, and economics. She obtained her academic degrees in the United States - an MALD in Law and Diplomacy from Tufts University, Boston and a Visiting Doctoral Scholarship at the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration-, and in Switzerland - a Ph.D. in International Economics from the Graduate Institute of International Studies at the University of Geneva. Since then she has managed effectively to divide her time and energy between the worlds of business and academe.
For the last two decades, Prof. Katzenstein's main business activities have focused on investments services to and active involvement as an active board member in Israeli high tech start ups. This was achieved through her work as owner and managing director of Forum International, an Israeli business development consultancy, and as a partner in Consulta Associates, an international business development consultancy, with an active network of affiliates in North America, Europe and the Far East.
As one of the pioneers of Entrepreneurial Education in Israel, she has published many articles and lectured on this and related subjects at most of Israel's prestigious universities and management institutions as well as at major public organizations and private technology based corporations. Her experience as Associate Dean of TISOM (Tel-Aviv International School of Management), a private international business school in Tel-Aviv, led directly to her initiative in bringing Swinburne University of Technology's renowned Enterpreneurship and Innovation program to Israel in the framework of ISEMI, where she has served as Founder & President since 1996.
In addition, Prof. Katzenstein is a member of the Board of Directors of numerous companies, including Clal Industries & Investments (Israel's largest holding company), Discount Issuers Ltd. (Israel's third largest bank), Bezeq Globe (a subsidiary of Israel's largest telecommunications company), Amanet (one of the largest consulting companies), RadWare and RadVision (NASDAQ traded high tech firms) and several others.

Irit Ben Ami - External Director
Attorney Ben Ami is a founding partner of Pitaro-Ben Ami Attorneys, and is a member of The Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Israel as well as the Israel Bar Association.
Attorney Ben Ami serves as Director of two public companies and continues to engage in academic aspects of labor law and corporate law as a practitioner in this field at Bar Ilan University, Ben Gurion University and at the Sha’arei Mishpat College.
She holds a Bachelors degree (cum laude) in Law (LL.B.) from Sha’arei Mishpat College, BA (with honors) in Economics and Accounting from Haifa University and an MA in Health Systems Management (M.H.A) from Ben Gurion University.
